Barbara L. Gionta

• I am the daughter of an Italian immigrant and grew up in Pearl River. I began my legal career as a prosecutor in Rockland County. In 1996, I obtained and was thereafter promoted to the position of Senior Domestic Violence Assistant District Attorney. In 2000, I was appointed as an Assistant Public Defender and was a partner at the firm, Gionta and DeStefano. In 2004, I became court appointed Law Guardian in the Supreme and Family Court. In June 2006, I was appointed to the Rockland County Court and have been presiding as County Court Judge since.
