In order to accomplish its mission, OGMEJ has identified the following strategic priorities to guide its work: assessing the MHL Article 81 Guardianship and Elder Justice System in New York State; facilitating the implementation of policy, operational, and legislative changes to the guardianship and elder justice system; increasing the availability of guardians, court evaluators, and court examiners; providing lay guardian support through the Guardian Assistance Office; providing programmatic oversight of UCS grant recipients for nonprofit agency guardian services; and collecting and reporting data on active guardianship cases.
