Overview
A Drug Treatment Court is a specialized, collaborative "problem-solving" court that offers non-violent, substance-addicted offenders an alternative to incarceration. Participants undergo court-supervised treatment and frequent testing with the opportunity for charges to be reduced or dismissed upon successful completion.

Mission Statement
The Chemung County Drug Treatment Court is a collaborative effort of professionals in the areas of law, substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment, education, employment/vocational training, and social services who provide comprehensive assessment, referral, treatment, and rehabilitative services for non-violent offenders with a substance use disorder. We provide intensive supervision, drug testing, and monitoring to achieve successful treatment outcomes and management of their criminal case. We believe that substance use disorder is a disease that can be treated through individualized approaches that will reduce criminal behavior and restore participants as contributing members of society.
