Ann Dillon Flynn has been appointed to serve as the Clerk of the Appellate Division, Fourth Department effective September 2, 2021.

Ms. Dillon Flynn graduated with honors from the University at Buffalo School of Law following a career as a high school mathematics teacher in the Chicago Public School District. While at the University at Buffalo, Ms. Dillon Flynn served as the Head Note and Comment editor of the Buffalo Law Review, and she was a member of the inaugural class of the New York State Unified Court System’s Pro Bono Scholars Program. Upon graduation, she joined the Fourth Department, where she has served as an Appellate Court Attorney in the Court’s two-year clerkship program, as a Senior Court Attorney on the Court’s permanent staff, and most recently as Chief of Staff to Presiding Justice Gerald J. Whalen. Ms. Dillon Flynn also spent time as an Assistant District Attorney in Erie County following her initial tenure with the Court.

Ms. Dillon Flynn earned her bachelor of science degree, with honors, in mathematics from Villanova University, and her secondary education teaching certificate from Northwestern University. She resides in Orchard Park with her husband, Conor Flynn, and their Newfoundland dog Nana.
