         A judge inquires about attending a fund-raising event sponsored by a not-for-profit charitable organization in which the judge’s law clerk serves as a member of the Board of Directors. The judge states he/she will not be recognized, nor will he/she speak at the event.

         The Committee previously has advised that, pursuant to the Rules Governing Judicial Conduct, a judge may attend a charitable fund-raising event. 22 NYCRR 100.4(C)(3)(b)(ii); Opinions 04-62; 02-04.
