Opinion 08-214

January 5, 2009

Dear Justice:

This responds to your inquiry (08-214) in which you ask whether, as a retired City Court Judge, you are restricted from practicing law for a certain period of time in the City Court in which you presided. This Committee has concluded that there is no time restriction which prohibits you from practicing law in that court immediately upon your retirement from the bench.

Please refer to Opinion 04-121, enclosed for your convenience, which addresses this issue.

Very truly yours,

George D. Marlow

Justice of the Supreme Court

Committee Chair
