Dear Justice :

         This responds to your inquiry (09-77) in which you ask whether there is any ethical prohibition to joining the Board of Directors of ________, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth, families and communities.

         The Committee has previously concluded that a judge may not serve as a director of a not-for-profit agency that provides services to persons who are or may have been referred to that agency by the court in which the judge presides.
