Dear Justice:

         This responds to your inquiry (10-57) asking whether you may perform in a community play sponsored by a not-for-profit arts center. You indicate that the ticket prices are standard for such theater groups and the event “is not designed to raise money for a particular charity or purpose.”

         Under the circumstances you describe, there is no ethical prohibition to performing in such a community theater production. Enclosed, for your convenience, is Opinion 00-24 which addresses this issue.
