Opinion 15-97

June 16, 2015

PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL

Dear :

This responds to your inquiry (15-97) asking whether it is ethically permissible to accept the costs of lodging for two nights associated with performing an out-of-town wedding for a good friend.

The Committee has previously determined that a judge may accept reimbursement for reasonable and necessary lodging and travel expenses incurred in connection with performing an out-of-town wedding.

Enclosed, for your convenience, is Opinion 04-26 which addresses this issue.

                                       Very truly yours,

George D. Marlow, Assoc. Justice

Appellate Division, First Dept. (Ret.)
