Digest:         A judge may be honored at a hospital’s non-fundraising luncheon.

Rule:            22 NYCRR §100.5(b).

Opinion:

         A full-time judge asks whether the judge my be honored at an annual, non-fundraising luncheon held by a hospital and children’s rehabilitation center.

         Section 100.5 (b) permits judges to participate in charitable activities provided that no fundraising is involved. Thus, as the luncheon is not a fundraiser, the judge may be honored at the luncheon.
