Dear Judge:

         The Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics has considered your inquiry as to whether by reason of your other employment, the federal Hatch Act prohibits you from seeking re-election to your judicial post.

         The Committee issues advisory opinions in response to inquiries concerning matters of judicial ethics. The question you raise is one of law as to whether a federal statute prevents you from seeking re-election, and is not one of judicial ethics. Accordingly, the Committee is not in a position to answer the question posed.
