Dear Judge :

         This responds to your inquiry (09-104) asking whether you may serve as a member of the Board of Directors or as an officer of a not-for-profit Religious Corporation. The Rules of Judicial Conduct permit such activity (see 22 NYCRR 100.4[C][3]), and the Committee has previously advised that it is ethically permissible for a judge to serve in either capacity subject to certain limitations, as set forth in Opinions 02-14 and 98-02 which you cite in your letter of inquiry.
