Dear Judge :

          This responds to your inquiry (09-87) asking whether you may remain as a board member of a local not-for-profit organization serving children and adults with Down Syndrome. This Committee has previously advised that it is ethically permissible to serve as a board member of such an organization, subject to certain restrictions. Enclosed, for your convenience, is Opinion 07-81 which addresses this issue and sets forth the limitations for this type of service.
