Digest:         An election committee may be formed for the dual purpose of re-electing a judge to one Court and assisting in his election to          another Court.

Rules:          22 NYCRR 100.7.

Opinion:

A judge inquires whether an election committee may be established for the dual purpose of campaigning for the judge's re-election to one Court as well as his election to another court.

There is no ethical prohibition to forming a committee to assist a judicial candidate for two offices. However, this committee is not passing on the legality of such a situation.
