Overview
The Harlem Community Justice Center and the Red Hook Justice Center were established to bring the court and community together to solve local problems. The Justice Centers accomplish this goal by having one judge handle multi-jurisdictional issues in a single courtroom. These courts seek to bring on-site social services to the court to address litigants' underlying social issues which have lead to their legal problems.
The Harlem Community Justice Center handles all types of residential landlord and tenant issues from buildings in Harlem zip-codes 10035 and 10037. This court also has a youth court and will handle family law issues.
The Redhook Justice Center handles housing cases from New York City Housing Authority Red Hook East and Red Hook West developments. The Redhook court was the nation's first multi-jurisdictional community court and handles criminal and family cases in addition to housing cases.

The Harlem Community Justice Center is temporarily closed. Please do not come to this location. Please visit the NY County Civil Court location at 111 Centre Street, New York, NY 10013 instead.

Hours: 9:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday; 9:00AM - 10:00PM every other Thursday for evening court.
Access to the Clerk's Office after 4:30 p.m. is limited to emergency applications. Please see below for specific office and courtroom hours.
Courtrooms generally open 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., M-F, and are closed 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. The first call of the morning calendar is usually 9:30 a.m., but you must check your court papers for locations and times.
Cashiering Services are open 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-F, except on every other Thursday when evening court is scheduled, the Landlord & Tenant Cashier closes at 6:30 p.m. and the Small Claims Cashier closes at 7:30 p.m..
Landlord/Tenant offices are open 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., M, T, W, and F, 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., on every other Thursday when evening court is scheduled. (Access to the Clerk's Office after 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays is limited to emergency applications.)
Small Claims offices are open 9:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m., M, T, W and F, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., on every other Thursday when evening court is scheduled. Evening Small Claims courtroom hours are 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., (every other Thursday only). Calendar call starts at 6:30 p.m.
