Our Mission Statement
The mission of the New York State Permanent Commission on Justice for Families is to promote equity, access, transparency, and understanding within the family justice system statewide. We are committed to judicial practices that advance family integrity and well-being, and that address the unique legal needs of New York’s families, youth, and children. In support of our mission, we employ cross-system collaboration among diverse court, community, professional, and impacted partners. Through innovation, education, reform, and advocacy, we strive to foster a comprehensive, representative, and just system in which every family is continuously met with compassion and respect.
