QUEENS, NY – Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman today announced, effective immediately, the appointment of Hon. Bernice Siegal as Supervising Judge of the Queens Civil Court. Judge Siegal received her law degree from New York Law School and a Master of Public Administration from New York University. Before her election to the Queens County Civil Court in 2002, for nearly a decade, she worked in private practice, including acting as counsel to New York City Council member Sheldon Leffler, Chair of the Public Safety Committee. Judge Siegal is a member of the Queens County Bar Association, sits on the Board of Directors of the Queens Women’s Bar Association and the National Association of Women Judges, and is president of the Brandeis Association. She is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker at continuing education forums and is the author of Non-Military Affidavits: Providing Civil Relief at Home.
