Hon. Robert C. Mulvey Appointed Administrative Judge of Sixth Judicial District

NEW YORK – Chief Administrative Judge Ann Pfau today announced the appointment of Hon. Robert C. Mulvey as Administrative Judge of the Sixth Judicial District. The appointment was made with the approval of Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman after consultation with Presiding Justice Anthony V. Cardona of the Appellate Division, Third Department. Judge Mulvey replaces Hon. Michael V. Coccoma, who has been appointed Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for the Courts Outside of New York City.

Chief Administrative Judge Pfau said, “I welcome Judge Mulvey to his new position. He is an exceptional jurist who has been an indispensable asset to the courts of the Sixth Judicial District for nearly a decade. Professionalism, hard work and integrity have been the guiding principles of his career, and I am confident those qualities will define his leadership in this important administrative position. I congratulate him on his appointment and look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Hon. Robert C. Mulvey was elected to the Supreme Court in the Sixth Judicial District in 2000. After graduating from New York Law School he served in private practice with his uncle Richard I. Mulvey in Ithaca, and later formed the Albanese & Mulvey Law Firm. He has also served as a Tompkins County Assistant District Attorney; Tompkins County Attorney; and Legislative Counsel to New York State Senator James L. Seward. He is a frequent lecturer and since 2006 has been a member of the Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics. Judge Mulvey earned his bachelor’s degree at State University College at Cortland.
