2016-07364 MOTION REINSTATEMENTIn the Matter of Jon A. Lefkowitz, admitted as Jon Ari Lefkowitz, a suspended attorney.
(Attorney Registration No. 2577534)
| DECISION & ORDER ON FOR |
Motion by Jon A. Lefkowitz for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Lefkowitz was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on January 5, 1994, under the name Jon Ari Lefkowitz. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated March 23, 2017, Lefkowitz was immediately suspended from the practice of law based on his conviction of a serious crime. By opinion and order of this Court dated July 11, 2018, Lefkowitz was suspended from the practice of law for two years, with credit for the time elapsed under the decision and order on motion of this Court dated March 23, 2017 (Matter of Lefkowitz, 163 AD3d 126). By decision and order on motion of this Court dated June 3, 2019, Lefkowitz's first motion for reinstatement was held in abeyance and the matter was referred to the Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on his character and fitness to practice law. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated January 15, 2021, Lefkowitz's first motion for reinstatement was denied.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion is denied.
We find that Jon A. Lefkowitz, admitted as Jon Ari Lefkowitz, does not demonstrate the requisite character and fitness to practice law.
LASALLE, P.J., DILLON, DUFFY, CONNOLLY and BRATHWAITE NELSON, JJ., concur.
