| ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE |
Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court, Queens County, dated August 16, 2023. The appellant perfected the appeal on May 22, 2024, the respondent filed a brief on August 20, 2024, and the appellant filed a reply brief on August 29, 2024. The matter was placed on the calendar for March 3, 2025. On February 19, 2025, the appellant and the respondent submitted a stipulation withdrawing the appeal. Documentation was submitted to this Court with the stipulation indicating that the respondent agreed to discontinue the action insofar as asserted against the appellant, a stipulation of discontinuance was executed by the respondent and the appellant on January 2, 2025, and the stipulation of discontinuance was filed with the Supreme Court, Queens County, on the same day.
Now, on the Court's own motion, it is
ORDERED that Hasbani & Light, PC, the appellant's counsel, and Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP, the respondent's counsel, are directed to show cause before this Court why an order should or should not be made and entered imposing such sanctions and/or costs, if any, against them pursuant to 22 NYCRR 1250.2(c) as this Court may deem appropriate, by serving and filing an affirmation or affidavit on that issue, via NYSCEF, on or before April 4, 2025; and it is further,
ORDERED that the Clerk of this Court, or his designee, is directed to serve a copy of this order to show cause by uploading a copy of this order to show cause to the NYSCEF system.
