The People of the State of New York, Respondent, v Twan Scarlett, Appellant (Original Decision & Order on Motion
Dated March 11, 2025) Docket No. 2022-977 RI CR

Appeal from a judgment of conviction of the Criminal Court of the City of New York, Richmond County, rendered October 20, 2022. Assigned counsel moved for leave to withdraw as counsel for appellant, and advised this court that appellant did not respond to correspondence sent to them by assigned counsel. By order to show cause dated September 20, 2024, appellant was directed to show cause why an order should or should not be made and entered dismissing the appeal on the ground that they had abandoned the appeal.

Upon the order to show cause and the papers having been filed in response thereto, and upon the motion by assigned counsel, it is

ORDERED that the motion to dismiss the appeal is granted and the appeal is dismissed; and it is further,

ORDERED that assigned counsel's motion to be relieved is granted.
