DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION

Motion by appellant for an extension of time to perfect an appeal from a final judgment of the City Court of Long Beach, Nassau County, entered April 24, 2024. Cross-motion by respondent to dismiss the appeal for failure to prosecute.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and cross-motion and the papers filed in opposition thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion is granted, and the appeal shall be perfected on or before February 2, 2026; and it is further,
ORDERED that in the event the appeal is not perfected by February 2, 2026, the court, on its own motion, may dismiss the appeal, or respondent may move, on three days' notice, to dismiss the appeal, and if appellant is unrepresented, may serve such motion upon appellant in person; and it is further,
ORDERED that the cross-motion is denied.
