Appeal by Charles P., and separate appeal by Sophia H. H., from an amended order of the Family Court, Queens County, dated April 3, 2025. By order on certification of this Court dated April 18, 2025, the following attorney was assigned as counsel to prosecute the appeal by the appellant Charles P., and was directed, inter alia, to contact the appellant Charles P. and determine his interest in perfecting his appeal:

By letter dated May 20, 2025, assigned counsel notified the Court that he has been unable to make contact with the appellant Charles P.

On the Court's own motion, it is

ORDERED that the parties are directed to show cause before this Court why an order should or should not be made and entered relieving the counsel assigned for the appellant Charles P. and dismissing the appeal by the appellant Charles P., on the ground that the appellant Charles P. has abandoned the appeal, by uploading a digital copy of an affirmation or affidavit, with proof of service thereof, through the digital portal on this Court's website on or before December 26, 2025; if a self-represented party is unable to use the digital portal, they may instead file a copy of an affirmation or affidavit, with proof of service thereof, via email at [email protected] or via regular mail addressed to the Clerk of this Court on or before December 26, 2025; and it is further,

ORDERED that the Clerk of this Court, or his designee, is directed to serve a copy of this order to show cause upon the parties or their attorneys, and upon the appellant Charles P. via email to the email address provided to this Court, or if no email address is available for service by regular mail.
