ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

Appeal from an order of the Family Court, Westchester County, dated April 16, 2025. By order on certification of this Court dated June 18, 2025, the following attorney was assigned as counsel to prosecute the appeal by the appellant David R., and was directed, inter alia, to contact the appellant David R. and determine his interest in perfecting his appeal:

By letter dated March 17, 2026, assigned counsel notified the Court that he has been unable to make contact with the appellant David R.

On the Court's own motion, it is

ORDERED that the parties are directed to show cause before this Court why an order should or should not be made and entered relieving the counsel assigned for the appellant David R., and dismissing the appeal by the appellant David R., on the ground that the appellant David R. has abandoned the appeal, by uploading a digital copy of an affirmation or affidavit, with proof of service thereof, through the digital portal on this Court's website on or before April 20, 2026; if a self-represented party is unable to use the digital portal, they may instead file a copy of an affirmation or affidavit, with proof of service thereof, via email at [email protected] or via regular mail addressed to the Clerk of this Court on or before April 20, 2026; and it is further,

ORDERED that the Clerk of this Court, or his designee, is directed to serve a copy of this order to show cause upon the parties or their attorneys, and upon the appellant David R. via email to the email address provided to this Court, or if no email address is available for service by regular mail.
