Postponement Requests

If the date your are summoned is inconvenient, the law allows you one postponement to an available jury term date of your choice within six months.

Requests to be postponed must be made as soon as possible to the Jury Commissioner's office at 607-277-4859.

Requests for a postponement will be granted only with a commitment by you to a future specified date within 6 months. If you have been previously postponed, no further postponements will be granted and you must be available to serve at this time.

After you have contacted the Jury Commissioner's office by telephone, you must complete the back of the summons and mail same to the jury commissioner within five days.

You will not receive a confirmation from the Jury Commissioner. You will be contacted only if there is a problem with your request.
