Welcome to the Problem-Solving Courts website.

The Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for Court Operations and Planning is charged with improving the functioning of the court system through the implementation of operational restructuring, the establishment and oversight of problem-solving courts statewide and the development of sound policies to govern them.

Problem-solving courts examine the issues that bring litigants into the justice system and respond with innovative approaches, including intensive judicial monitoring and the incorporation of community resources, that are designed to increase offender accountability, enhance community safety and protect the rights of all litigants while improving the outcomes of individual cases.

Problem-solving courts in New York State include Integrated Domestic Violence Courts, Domestic Violence Courts, Drug Treatment Courts, Mental Health Courts, Sex Offense Courts, Youthful Offender Domestic Violence Courts and Community Courts.

In order to stay current with the latest technology and best practices in each field, our office provides comprehensive legal training and advanced technology training to court administrators, judges and staff involved in problem-solving courts.

In addition, our office is working to improve public access to court records with the goal of providing litigants, lawyers and the public with better electronic access to case files, court calendars, judicial decisions and other related court documents.
