On Monday, May 3, 2021, The Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission held a virtual Law Day Program – Advancing the Rule of Law in the Pursuit of Justice for All. Program welcome and greetings were provided by Porter Kirkwood, Esq., District Executive, Sixth Judicial District, FHW Commissioner, and Hon. Mark Montour, Supreme Court, Erie County, FHW Commissioner. The program was moderated by Hon. Michael C. López, Rochester City Court, FHW Commissioner. Program participants were law students Logan R. Kenney, Prachee Sawant, and Julian Xu from Cornell Law School; Shakierah Smith from University at Buffalo School of Law; and Dianne Jahangani and Mazaher Kaila from Syracuse University College of Law. The law students all answered questions regarding what advancing the rule of law means to them. A video clip of the Franklin H. Williams documentary “A Bridge to Justice” was shown and closing remarks were given by Paula C. Johnson, Professor, Syracuse University College of Law and FHW Commissioner.
