Appellate Division
Prior to 37 AD2 The records are not by
cite, and they are 4th Department only. Check the AD
card catalog on 3 1/2 by case name (alphabetically) for a volume
number. Volumes 2853 - 3813 are located in the rear stacks,
a.k.a. two steps up.
37 AD2 - 58 AD2 Most of the records are
bound by cite and located in the rear stacks although some
37 AD2 - 40 AD2 are not so arranged. For these, you will need
to check the AD card catalog for a volume number. All of
the records in this range are 4th Department only.
59 AD2 - 68 AD2 These records, 3rd
and 4th Department only, are bound by cite and located
in the rear stacks.
69 AD2 - 89 AD2 These cover 1st through
4th Department and are on microfilm in the back room.
90 AD2 - 98 AD2 These records, 3rd
and 4th Department only, are paper records filed by cite
in the rear stacks. Some 98 AD2 cases are on microfiche,
so check the cabinets in the back room if you can't find
them in the stacks.
99 AD2 - 280 First check the hardcover
official reporter, where each case should have a notation of "M" for
microfiche or "P" for paper. The microfiche records cover1st
through 4th Departments, while the paper records in the
rear stacks are for 3rd and 4th Departments only.
NOTE: If the citation falls into the 123-130 range, there will be no
notation in the books, so check the fiche drawer first. If there is no fiche,
try the rear stacks for the paper version.
