Naturalization

Overview

The County Clerk maintains naturalization records for the years 1907 through 1924. These records include the following: certificate of arrival, declaration of intention and petitions. A copy of these records is available for a fee of $20, payable to the Kings County Clerk in cash, certified check or bank or postal money orders.

A search of these records may be done by mail or in person.

If you do a search in person, the only fee you pay for is the copying fee for the use of public copying machines.

To conduct a search by mail, the fee for the search is $10, and the fee for the copy is $10, for a total of $20. However if you have the volume and page number, the fee is only $10. This fee is payable to the Kings County Clerk by bank or postal money order or certified check. You can obtain the volume and page number by doing research on the following website: www.jgsny.org.

Mail your request, including the fee, person's name and the years to be searched, with a stamped self-addressed envelope to:

The Kings County Clerk Room 189, Record Room
360 Adams Street
Brooklyn, NY 11201

All other naturalization records are maintained by the U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at: 1-800-375-5283.
