Overview
Established in 1981, the Community Dispute Resolution Centers Program (CDRC) is an initiative of the New York State Unified Court System in collaboration with independent not-for-profit organizations. This statewide network of CDRCs provides Alternative Dispute Resolution services to help individuals, families, and communities constructively respond to conflict. CDRCs are internationally recognized as a model of providing free and low cost access to high quality ADR services for residents in New York's 62 counties. Each year, CDRCs provide mediation, conciliation, restorative justice, facilitation, and arbitration services in more than 30,000 cases to help more than 70,000 people respond to a wide variety of family, civil, and criminal matters. CDRCs assist courts by providing services in a wide range of court-referred cases including small-claims, housing, custody and visitation, divorce, and surrogates matters.
