[*1]DECISION & ORDER ON MOTION FOR REINSTATEMENT
Motion by Martin E. Kofman for reinstatement to the Bar as an attorney and counselor-at-law. Kofman was admitted to the Bar at a term of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department on January 14, 1987. By decision and order on motion of this Court dated July 31, 2019, Kofman was immediately suspended from the practice of law pursuant to Judiciary Law § 90(4)(f) and 22 NYCRR 1240.12(c)(2)(ii), based upon his conviction of a serious crime. By opinion and order of this Court dated July 28, 2021, Kofman was suspended from the practice of law for a period of two years, with credit for the time elapsed under his interim suspension (see Matter of Kofman, 198 AD3d 9). By decision and order of this Court dated May 20, 2022, Kofman's motion for reinstatement was held in abeyance and the matter was referred to a Committee on Character and Fitness to investigate and report on his character and fitness to practice law.
Upon the papers filed in support of the motion and the papers filed in relation thereto, and upon the report of the Committee on Character and Fitness and the exhibits annexed thereto, it is
ORDERED that the motion is granted on condition that on or before June 1, 2026, Martin E. Kofman, file with the Clerk of the Court proof of payment for the current registration period, and it is further,
ORDERED that upon receipt of proof, as directed above, the Clerk of the Court shall restore the name of Martin E. Kofman, to the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law, and Martin E. Kofman, shall be reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law.
