Appeal from an order of the Supreme Court, Queens County, dated January 24, 2025. The appellant perfected the appeal on December 8, 2025, the respondent filed his brief on January 30, 2026, and the appellant filed a reply brief on March 2, 2026. The matter was placed on the calendar for April 20, 2026. On June 9, 2026, counsel for the appellant notified this Court that the respondent had filed a bankruptcy petition on March 11, 2026.
Now, on the Court's own motion, it is
ORDERED that Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP, counsel for the appellant, and Anderson Bowman Wallshein, PLLC, counsel for the respondent, are directed to show cause before this Court why an order should or should not be made and entered imposing such sanctions and/or costs, if any, against Anderson Bowman Wallshein, PLLC, and/or Charles Wallshein, counsel for the respondent, pursuant to 22 NYCRR 1250.2(c) as this Court may deem appropriate, by each serving and filing an affirmation or affidavit on that issue, via NYSCEF, on or before July 10, 2026; and it is further,
ORDERED that the Clerk of this Court, or his designee, is directed to serve a copy of this order to show cause by uploading a copy of this order to show cause to the NYSCEF system.
