PASSPORT APPLICATIONS ARE NOT BEING PROCESSED AT THE QUEENS COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

 

NOTARY

The Queens County Clerk’s Office maintains an index of all Notary Publics qualified in Queens County. The office also provides a variety of services for Notary Public affairs.

These are the fees associated with those services:

  • Authentications of Notary - $3.00
  • Renewals of Notary - $60.00*
  • Notary Framing Certificates - $10.00
  • Issuing of Character Cards - $5.00
  • Filing of Character Cards - $10.00

To certify a notary signature, come to the County Clerk's Office, Room 106, and pay $3.00 each, in cash, certified check or U.S. postal money order payable to the Queens County Clerk.

Please note: the notary stamp must read "QUALIFIED IN QUEENS COUNTY."

*EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1ST., 2023 (SEE EXECUTIVE LAW SECTION 131 (2)), THE QUEENS COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE WILL NO LONGER BE PROCESSING NOTARY RENEWALS. NOTARY RENEWALS MUST NOW BE PROCESSED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE (DOS). FURTHER INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS MAY BE FOUND BY VISITING: WWW.DOS.NY.GOV/NOTARY-PUBLIC. For notary renewal, it takes approximately four months to receive the card from Albany. If you have received your cancelled check, your license has been renewed for four years. If you've not received your card in the allotted time; please contact the *New York Department of State in Albany at 518-474-4429.

For Commissioner of Deeds, the fee for filing the signature card is $10.00. If you are coming in person, please go to the Notary department in room 106, with your original Commissioner of Deeds signature card.

Mail/Payments
Please include a stamped self-addressed return envelope for your receipt.
The fees are payable by U.S. postal money order, certified check or New York State attorney's check, made payable to the Queens County Clerk. Cash is only accepted when filing in person, No personal checks will be accepted.

 

PASSPORT APPLICATIONS

Effective February 1, 2024 PASSPORT APPLICATIONS WILL BE PROCESSED AT THE QUEENS COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call 718-298-0601 to schedule your appointment.

The Queens County Clerk's Office processes applications for U.S. Passports:

Monday thru Friday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM, by appointment only. 
To obtain a passport for the first time, the applicant must furnish the following: 

  • a birth certificate with raised seal, or a certificate of naturalization
  • one passport photos, 2x2 in size
  • photo ID-driver's license, non-driver's ID, government issue ID, military identification, or student ID
  • applicants 16 years or older must supply:
    -a check or money order for $130.00 payable to the U.S. Department of State (Passport Book only)
    -a check or money order for $160.00 payable to the U.S. Department of State (Passport Book and Card)
  • applicants under the age of 16 must supply:
    -a check or money order for $100.00 payable to the U.S. Department of State (Passport Book only)
    -a check or money order for $115.00 payable to the U.S. Department of State (Passport Book and Card)
  • All applicants must pay $35 an execution fee to the County Clerk, payable by Money Order or Cash or Credit Card
     

All documents must be an original. No photocopies will be accepted.

If You Are Not a Citizen, but Wish to Apply for a Passport for a Child Born in the United States:
For non-citizens applying for a passport for a child born in the United States, the parents of the child must present their passports from their country, or a valid resident's card, or a work authorization card issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Applications are accepted at any County Clerk’s office within the City of New York and at most U.S. Post Offices.
