About Us:
The Office of the Statewide ADA Coordinator provides training, resources, and support to the Unified Court System on Title II of the ADA to ensure that all persons with disabilities have full and equal access to the courts.
The Office cannot:
- Review judicial decisions on accommodation requests. If you are not satisfied with a judge's decision, you must follow the normal process of judicial review which may mean filing an appeal. Appeals | New York Courts
- Investigate claims of discrimination bias. You may make a complaint about bias or discrimination to the Inspector General's Office, Discrimination Matters Unit. Discrimination Matters Unit | New York Courts
If a Chief Clerk or District Executive denies an accommodation request, such as CART, an Assistive Listening Device, or Sign Language Interpreter, that decision may be reviewed by the Statewide ADA Coordinator. How a Denied ADA Request Can Be Reviewed | New York Courts
