Hon. Mark M. Meddaugh (Ret.)
The Hon. Mark M. Meddaugh (Ret.) was appointed as Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court in Sullivan County, the 3rd Judicial District in 1997. Judge Meddaugh was elected as a Family Court Judge in 1993 and served in the Sullivan County Family Court, until his retirement in January 2023. Before joining the bench, and a few years after private practice, Meddaugh served as a Hearing Court Examiner for the Sullivan County Family Court. Judge Meddaugh chaired the Attorney for the Children Advisory Committee, Appellate Division, Third Department until his retirement. He was appointed to the Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics on March 3, 2017, and currently serves as the chair of the 3rd Dept panel. He earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany and J.D. from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
