Volunteer With the Court
The New York City Small Claims Court Mediation Program relies on professionals who volunteer their time as mediators. Eligibility to serve on this roster (and any other roster in NYS Courts) is governed by Part 146 of the Rules of the Chief Administrative Judge, which outlines the minimum training and experience required to be on a court roster. Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRCs)
CDRCs rely on the service of their volunteers to in offering ADR services to their clients. These services include:

Other Opportunities
Arbitrators hear cases as a part of the NYS Attorney General's Lemon Law Program, which is administered by the New York State Dispute Resolution Association (NYSDRA). Cases are conducted locally through a Community Dispute Resolution Center.
