Jury Selection Part Rules
- All jury and non-jury matters will be conferenced for resolution at the first appearance by all parties in the JSP Part.
- All parties MUST be fully familiar with the case and have full authority to settle the matter.
- If the case cannot be settled, a firm trial date will be given at that time.
- The trial date cannot be adjourned. All parties must proceed on that date.
- White’s method shall be employed by all parties during jury selection (see 22 NYCRR 202.33(g), Appendix E[B][2]) and CPLR 4109.
- All personal injury matters except medical malpractice and any matter otherwise ordered by the Court, shall be bifurcated. The same jury will sit for the liability and damages portion of the case, if possible.
