Overview

The NYS Unified Court System's 5th Judicial District Access to Justice Program is dedicated to making the courts more fair, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all community members. The program works to reduce barriers—whether financial, informational, or physical—so that people can navigate the legal system with greater confidence and clarity. Through outreach, education, self‑help resources, and partnerships with local organizations, the program helps ensure that everyone has a meaningful opportunity to understand their rights, participate in court processes, and seek justice.

Our Mission: To further access to justice in all NY State Courts for people of all backgrounds, incomes, and abilities by using every resource, including pro bono programs, self-help services, and technological tools, and by securing stabile and adequate non-profit and government funding for civil and criminal legal services programs.

Tabling at an Onondaga County Resource Fair, June 2025, hosted by the SRC Arena and the NYS Department of Labor. Over 170 businesses and organizations were there to offer over 8,000 jobs, career counseling, resume review, and family resources for the community.
