Mission Statement

The Cortland County Drug Treatment Court is a collaborative effort of professionals in the areas of law enforcement, substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment, education, employment/vocational training, and social services who provide comprehensive assessment, referral, treatment, and rehabilitative services for non-violent offenders with a substance use disorder. We provide intensive supervision, access to appropriate services, toxicology testing, and monitoring to achieve successful treatment outcomes and to manage their criminal case. We believe that substance use disorder is a disease that can be treated through individualized approaches that will reduce criminal behavior and restore participants as contributing members of society.
 

Court Information

Cortland Treatment Court (CTC) is one of many Problem-Solving Courts that are operated throughout New York State. Cortland Treatment Court is a hub Court that addresses both felony and misdemeanor matters. CTC is held on Mondays at the Courtland County courthouse. CTC is a court- supervised treatment program for people who face criminal charges and who also have an alcohol and/or substance use disorder. The goal of CTC is to assist you to break the cycle of substance use disorders and criminal activity. This program is staffed by a team of community agencies and is led by the CTC Judge. Treatment Court is a voluntary program that includes regular court appearances before the Treatment Court Judge. If you are accepted into CTC, you will be expected to engage in treatment and follow a treatment plan. The CTC Treatment Team closely monitors your progress.
