Estate Searches
- in person in Record Room - no fee
- by mail, search within 25 years - $30.00
- by mail, search over 25 years - $90.00
No searches done by telephone.
Mail requests should include name of decedent, date of death (if known), and last known Queens address. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
All payments must be made by cash (in person only), money order, certified check, or New York State attorney’s check.
Record Room Access
The record room is open daily Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The record room closes daily from 12:50 p.m. to 2:00 pm. You may access files from 2014
onward by visiting www.websurrogates.nycourts.gov.
Copies
- In person in the record room:
Copies may be made by indicating the name, file number, and quantity of pages to the
record room clerk for a fee of .25 cents per page. All payments must be made in cash.
- Via the Indexing Department, NYSCEF, or mail:
If requesting copies through the Indexing Department, NYSCEF, or mail, the copies will be
certified and carry a fee of $6.00 per page.
