All persons entering the Courthouse during regular business hours are to do so by means of the front entrance. All visitors to the Courthouse will be required to pass through a magnetometer for safety reasons. Anyone with a health condition that would be affected by such scans may speak with the officer on duty. Personal belongings and closed containers may also be inspected at the discretion of the officer on duty.

The New York State Police and Lewis County Sheriff both have facilities in the Lowville area. Either agency may be reached by dialing 911. The New York State Police Barracks are located on New York State Route 26, North of Lowville and may be reached by dialing (315) 376-6513. The Lewis County Sheriff's Department is located on Outer Stowe Street, Lowville and may be reached at (315) 376-5311. In the event of a fire the Lewis County Sheriff's Department should be contacted at (315) 376-2511. The Village of Lowville Police Department is located at 5402 Dayan Street, in the Village of Lowville and may be reached at (315) 376-6511 (if no answer, dial (315) 376-6513).
