Emergency Applications
Emergency Applications can be filed in person or virtually utilizing the New York State Courts Electronic filing system (NYSCEF) by parties seeking emergency relief. Parties filing emergency applications should also contact the Ex-Parte Department using the contact information provided above. The application must be accompanied by a separate emergency affidavit or affirmation which does not pray for the underlying relief requested but rather addresses:
- Why the application must be entertained forthwith and,
- Why the application could not have been brought to the court’s attention earlier.
Filing parties are advised to consult Uniform Rules for the New York State Trial Courts 202.8(E) concerning notification.
