The Archives Department houses the following records:

  • Bronx Supreme Court naturalization records [1941-1952]
  • Census Records [1915 & 1925]

Census Records

The Bronx County Clerk holds census records for the years 1915 & 1925. 

To conduct a search of these records, email [email protected] with as much of the following information as possible:

  • Names of household members
  • Address
  • Election/Assembly districts

The fee for a search and a certificate recording the result of the search is $10.

To obtain a certificate after confirming search results, please mail a request letter or a copy of the email thread alongside payment and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to our Mailing Address.

Naturalization Records

The Bronx County Clerk maintains Bronx Supreme Court naturalization records for the years 1914 to 1952.

Certified copies of the following records are available for $10.00 per document:

  • Petition for Naturalization (Certificate of Arrival is included at no extra charge, if available)
  • Declaration of Intention

 

To obtain certified copies, please provide the following:

  • A completed Naturalization Request Form
  • Payment of $10 per document requested to the Bronx County Clerk by money order, certified check, or NYS attorney’s check.
  • Self-addressed stamped envelope (9”x12” recommended for ledger sized petitions)

Refer to the websites below to search for naturalization records online based on year of naturalization:

Declaration of Intention at Bronx Supreme Court Search

If you have only filed a Declaration of Intention at Bronx Supreme Court, it will not be displayed on the online sites above. Due to the age and conditions of these documents, only staff members are authorized to conduct record searches. 

To submit a search request, please email [email protected] or call (718) 618-3377 with as much of the following information as possible:

  • Names / aliases – including alternate spellings
  • Date of birth(s)
  • Location for birth for the:
    • Petitioner
    • Petitioner’s spouse and children
    • Petitioner’s parents
  • Former residential addresses

If no record is located, the office can issue a negative search letter known as a Certificate of No Record Found.

Please note that the Bronx County Clerk does not have the authority to issue a Certification of Non-Existence. Only the USCIS can issue a certification of non-existence of a record for post-1906 records.

All other naturalization records are maintained by the U. S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) or call (800) 375-5283.
